About Interview Preparedness

Interview Preparedness was formed out of passion to assist today's youth and today's professional in light of today's economy and today's job market. Deanna Poehlman, founder and owner, has been involved in youth and children's ministry as a teacher and grade coordinator since 1991. After working 22 years in the wireless telecommunication industry, Deanna was given a vision to pursue a more fulfilling occupation. Believing the statement: 'work of our hands and of our mind is acted out prayer, a love offering to our living God', Deanna departed the telecommunication industry to assist others in preparing for a career they could love by making the laborious 'interview process' not only a comfortable experience, but an enjoyable and confident practice. Deanna has put together a team of advisors to assist in large group training for motivation lectures and professional development that have a combined experience tenure surpassing 100 years.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor and a recent study published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, young adults entering the workplace today will change their job every 2 ½ to 3 years - proficient interviewing skills are not only vital in progression to the next position, but will be an investment that will surely reward them more rapidly in terms of compensation - their confidence will get them the better jobs and for more pay. Interview Preparedness offers one-on-one consultation, class-room learning environment as well as auditorium/lecture settings. Each setting prepares participants with the tools and skills required to execute interviews with confidence, adeptness and un-matched success. We take a look at what 'was' vs. what 'is' in today's workplace, prepare to view the process from the interviewee's requirements and frame their skills to match with the company's expectations. Ultimately, ensuring they are the best candidate by presenting their unique skill-sets against the company's requirements, then move to closing techniques that secure an offer.

We have presented to Church Youth Groups, Companies, and assisted High Schools with mock interviewing through observation and feedback as well as one-on-one consultations.
